I apologize for not updating this page last week. We had a fun week with the baseball game on Thursday, and we're looking forward to 3 whole-school field trips coming up in the next few weeks. Students will be taking more items home in the next weeks as well, as we prepare to clean up the classroom for the end of the school year.

**On Friday we will be watching a movie of the students' choice. They earned the next level in the rewards jar which was for a beach afternoon, but with Gorge Park playground being closed, so many upcoming field trips, and lots of outside learning, they agreed to swap it for a movie afternoon instead. Bring snacks!

Upcoming Important Dates:
Tuesday, June 14 - Whole-school field trip to Beckwith Park
Thursday, June 16 - Indigenous Feast (5pm-7pm)
Friday, June 17 - Whole-school field trip to Witty's Lagoon
Tuesday, June 21 - Whole-school field trip to Royal Roads for National Indigenous Peoples Day
Wedneday, June 22 - Fun day at Craigflower. Reports go home.
Thursday, June 23 - Last day of school for students.

MATH
Number Talks
  • Analyzing a variety of graphs and charts. 
Data Management
  • I can read and describe data presented in a variety of graphs including bar graphs, pictographs, and line plots.
  • I can complete or make graphs to represent data.
Daily Math
  • I can practice all strands of math independently in my workbook then get help for concepts I don't understand yet.
    • Monday: Patterns & Algebra
    • Tuesday: Number Sense
    • Wednesday: Geometry and Spatal Sense
    • Thursday: Measurement
    • Friday: Data Management

LITERACY
Reading
  • I can read indpendently for up to 10 minutes.
  • I can respectfully read with a friend or little buddy. 
Word Work
  • Switch It and Word Cookies - I can use my knowledge of letter sounds and combinations to make words with different sets of letters.
  • Word of the Day - I can break down words into vowels, consonants, and syllables, and work on rhyming, writing sentences, and finding more words with those letters.
Writing
  • I can write independently, sounding out words and using my resources to spell words.​
  • I can use full sentences, including capital letters and ending punctuation.
  • I can use picture and word prompts to support my writing.
Daily Language
  • I can practice different aspects of language in my workbook then get help for concepts I don't understand yet.
    • Monday: Sentences and Punctuation
    • Tuesday: Grammar and Usage
    • Wednesday: Vocabulary and Figurative Language
    • Thursday: Phonics, Spelling, and Word Skills
    • Friday: Writing Prompt
