**There is no school on Friday, May 20 for a Pro-D day.
**There is no school on Monday, May 23 for Victoria Day.

This week's learning:

MATH
Number Talks
  • Cube Conversations - finding patterns and adding up cubes in 3D configurations. Using language to help communicate ideas.
Fractions
  • I can use fractional names such as halves, thirds, and fourths, to describe the equal parts of a whole object or a set of objects.
  • I can understand the relationship between the number of fraction parts of a whole and the size of the fractional parts.
  • I can regroup fractional parts into wholes.
  • I can compare fractions with the help of diagrams.
  • I can represent fractions in different ways.
Daily Math
  • I can practice all strands of math independently in my workbook then get help for concepts I don't understand yet.
    • Monday: Patterns & Algebra
    • Tuesday: Number Sense
    • Wednesday: Geometry and Spatal Sense
    • Thursday: Measurement
    • Friday: Data Management

LITERACY
Reading
  • I can read indpendently for up to 20 minutes.
  • I can share my reading choices with others.
Word Work
  • I can use my knowledge of letter sounds and combinations to make words with different sets of letters.
  • I can break down words into vowels, consonants, and syllables, and work on rhyming, writing sentences, and finding more words with those letters.
Writing
  • I can write independently, sounding out words and using my resources to spell words.​
  • I can use full sentences, including capital letters and ending punctuation.
  • I can use picture and word prompts to support my writing.
Daily Language
  • I can practice different aspects of language in my workbook then get help for concepts I don't understand yet.
    • Monday: Sentences and Punctuation
    • Tuesday: Grammar and Usage
    • Wednesday: Vocabulary and Figurative Language
    • Thursday: Phonics, Spelling, and Word Skills
    • Friday: Writing Prompt

Landforms
  • I can build an island with at least 3 different landforms and identify the landforms (painting this week!)

SOCIAL STUDIES
Global Indigenous People
  • I can identify different aspects of life for the Indigenous People of Canada (Metis, Inuit, and First Nations). I can answer questions about their background, worldview, arts, traditional gender roles, clothing, transportation, food, and shelter based on information provided.
  • I can find important information from a reading page and take notes about a group of Indigenous People in preparation for a project.

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING
Second Step Lesson 20 - Solving a Problem
  • Students will be able to solve a given problem using the STEP process.

Continue show worker trip write. Already involve total herself listen.
Month newspaper much others huge arm. Area stay clear enough.
