SOCIAL STUDIES

Rules and Responsibility

In class we explored some ideas around rules and responsibilities. We talked a little about how they're different and alike. We had some questions too. Use the questions below to research and try to find the answers so we can learn more about this topic. I've linked some helpful videos below to get you started.

We also watched a video about Orange Shirt Day and how we all have the right to feel safe at school. We also have a  responsibility to help others feel safe and welcome in our school and community. Watch the video below and think about how you can help make sure no one feels left out at school.
Our Questions:
How are rules, rights, and responsibilities the same and different?
Who makes these for your home, school, community, city, province, and country?
Is it fair? Why or why not?

What are your responsibilities at home? At school? In your community?
What if there were no rules?
How do you want to feel at school and in your community?
How can you make others feel safe and welcome at school?
