Science

Thermal Energy

LEARNING GOALS:
  • I can determine sources of thermal energy.
  • I can determine different ways that thermal energy is transferred.
  • I can define the words convection, conduction, & radiation.
  • I can understand the difference between conductors and insulators for heat transfer.
WAYS TO SUPPORT AT HOME:
  • Do experiments with heat.
  • Talk about how items stay hot or cold and why (insulation).
  • Talk about sources of heat energy and how it can transfer or what prevents transfer.
  • Encourage your child to ask questions, then help them find the answers.
