In-class week 25

Important:
Remember that Indigenous People have gone by many names over the years, and that any reference to names that are not politically correct are not my doing, but how the resources were made years ago.

Canadian Communities from 1780-1850

Important:
Remember that Indigenous People have gone by many names over the years, and that any reference to names that are not politically correct are not my doing, but how the resources were made years ago.

LEARNING GOALS:
  • I can understand that the people of Early Canada lived very differently from how we live today.
  • I can notice the similarities and differences between different groups of First Peoples.
  • I can notice that the First Peoples’ experience of living in Canada was not the same as for the settlers.

WAYS TO SUPPORT AT HOME:
  • Watch videos and read books about the early settlers and what Canada was like for the indigenous peoples.
  • Talk about how things are different and the same now as they were during this time period.
  • Encourage your child to ask questions, then help them find the answers.
