LEARNING GOALS:
I can understand that everything is matter.
I can understand that matter is made up of particles.
I can identify the different states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.
I can differentiate between physical and chemical changes in matter.
I can define and identify different changes in states of matter: evaporation, condensation, melting, and freezing.
WAYS TO SUPPORT AT HOME:
Do experiments with water to see it in its different states (ice, liquid, steam).
Notice and point out different states of matter you see when you're out and about.
Talk about the different changes that occur when manipulating matter (physical and chemical changes).
Do experiments at home, including baking, to see the chemical changes of matter.
Encourage your child to ask questions, then help them find the answers.
