I can use figurative language like similes, metaphors, hyperbole, personification, alliteration, and onomatopoeia in my writing.
WAYS TO SUPPORT AT HOME:
Point out figurative language when reading or telling stories.
Practice making sentences using figurative language (tongue twisters for alliteration).
Practice telling and writing stories using figurative language to make it more detailed and interesting.
Notice the use of figurative language in stories, TV shows, movies, or in what your child or others say and write.
